PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
A major development has emerged from Dinhata Block No. 2 in Cooch Behar district, where Booth Level Officers have collectively resigned from Settlement Inquiry Report duties. The resignation was submitted in protest against the functioning of the Election Commission and the frequent changes in instructions issued during the SIR process.
The BLOs alleged that they are being harassed by repeated and often contradictory directions sent through WhatsApp, without any clear or consistent policy. According to them, the constant alteration of rules has created confusion and severe mental stress, making it difficult to conduct fieldwork efficiently.
Another key concern raised by the officers is the impact on academic responsibilities. Most of the resigning BLOs are school teachers, who said the prolonged SIR work has disrupted teaching activities and prevented them from giving adequate time to students.
